Limited edition Caitlin Hackett print.

So Shaun and I haven't been around much lately, because we have been busy collaborating on a new creative endeavour - a baby boy named Miles Stanley Duncan! He's a lot of work and a lot of fun, but we still have time for print making; something new and a little different this time. On request by Lachlan of Art As Catharsis, we have just printed a limited edition of a piece by wonderful American artist Caitlin Hackett. Lachlan's band Serious Beak commissioned this painting from Caitlin for the cover of their album Huxwhukw, and to showcase its detail and beauty in full we printed this run of 25 on A2 paper, as close as we could get to the original size. They turned out beautifully as you can see below!

This time we won't be handling the sale of the prints - they're available to buy direct from the Art As Catharsis bandcamp page where you'll also find all the relevant specs. Go check them out and buy some rad independent music while you're there!

Graphite Ageing Amanita Muscaria Fine Art Print

Finally, part four of our new mushroom print series - the first mushroom Amy ever drew, and possibly her favourite. This botanical illustration was drawn to scale directly from life, and rendered entirely in graphite pencil. The original suffered a coffee stain during storage that had to be removed as best as possible by a conservationist, but thanks to the wonders of Photoshop Shaun was able to restore the image to its original glory for the printed version!

These archival prints are made using Epson Ultrachrome K3 pigment inks on 308gsm 100% cotton Hahnemühle photo rag paper. Prints are 24 x 33cm in size (9.5 x 13 inches), and hand signed on the bottom right corner in graphite pencil. All materials used to create these are of archival quality, right down to the packaging they’ll be shipped in, so your print can be safely stored in it’s original sleeve until you have it framed. Also included is a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity, featuring our embossed logo.

Prints will be shipped flat in a sturdy cardboard mailer, protected by a clear acid-free polypropylene sleeve, with archival cardboard backing and foam-board for added support. This is an open edition print.

$80 AUD, postage included to pretty much anywhere.

Graphite Amanita Muscaria Fine Art Print

Please welcome part three of our new mushroom print series - a classic specimen collected from a friend's garden in Adelaide several years ago, and drawn directly from life in graphite pencil. I always intended to do a coloured version of this mushroom to capture its brilliant red cap and flawless white stem, but as long as there are new mushrooms to be drawn that will likely never happen!

These archival prints are made using Epson Ultrachrome K3 pigment inks on 300gsm 100% cotton Museo Portfolio Rag paper. Prints are A4 in size (8.27 x 11.69 inches), and hand signed on the bottom right corner in graphite pencil. All materials used to create these are of archival quality, right down to the packaging they’ll be shipped in, so your print can be safely stored in it’s original sleeve until you have it framed. Also included is a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity, featuring our embossed logo.

$60 AUD, postage included to pretty much anywhere.

Young Amanita Muscaria Fine Art Print

Here we have part two of our new four-part mushroom print series. This teensy tiny mushroom was collected on a field trip to Red Hill on Amy's birthday in June 2013, and drawn to scale directly from life; it was rendered partially with graphite pencil then completed with watercolour.

This is a strictly limited edition of 50, made using Epson Ultrachrome K3 pigment inks on 300gsm 100% cotton Museo Portfolio Rag paper. The prints are 148 x 197mm in size (5 7/8 x 7 3/4"),  all hand signed on the bottom right corner and numbered on the bottom left in graphite pencil. All materials used to create these are of archival quality, right down to the packaging they’ll be shipped in, so your print can be safely stored in it’s original sleeve until you have it framed. Also included is a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity, featuring our embossed logo on a gold seal.

New mushroom prints and greeting cards

Hello friends! Thanks to any of you out there who visited the exhibition recently at the Botanic Gardens (see our previous blog post) - Amy sold all three of her watercolour mushroom paintings and took out the People's Choice award to boot! Nearly all the greeting cards sold as well, so to celebrate the success of the exhibition we will be releasing a series of new prints. This series will contain all of the Amanita muscaria mushrooms Amy has painted thus far, and just in time for Christmas we'll be making the matching greeting cards available too. Stay tuned for details! Here are some of the test prints Shaun’s been doing for the new series:
